Czech Republic Travel Guide

Together with Slovakia, the Czech Republic formed one country (Czechoslovakia) until the two separated in a peaceful way and became independent. The Czech part has always been the richer of the two, not in the least because the capital Prague is located there.

The country is most famous for its Bohemian crystal.

Prague must be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Its picturesque historic centre is a far cry away from the hustle and bustle in the city's financial district. Prague can easily be explored on foot or by taking the tram, which runs throughout the city.

Other cities worth a visit include Brno, Plzen (especially for beer lovers) and Ostrava.

During winter, skiing is possible in the moutains in the north of the country.
